On September 25, Lansing Ltd. Apartments hosted their biggest event of the year, their annual health fair! Coordinated by Debbie Turner, Service Coordinator, the event was a success, with 12 agencies involved and approximately 140 attendees. The following agencies passed out information, did screenings, and offered preventive care such as flu shots:
-Belmont County Health Dept. offered information and flu shots.
-The Belmont County Sheriff’s Department sent two deputies. One of the deputies was Jersey, the St. Bernard, along with her human, Linda, who is a deputy as well. Jersey was very receptive to the many kisses, hugs, and treats she received from all who attended.
-Coleman Health, a local mental health facility, provided information for attendees.
-Foster Bridge and I.C. Care, local healthcare agencies, brought informational materials.
-Rolling Hills, a rehab facility and neighbor to Lansing Ltd, brought resources as well as food.
-Paws n Time/Vom HeartSoul brought registered Therapy Dogs who provided entertainment and lots of love to those attending.
-Valley and Stonerise Hospice provided information on medical power of attorney and living wills.
-West Liberty College Hearing and Speech provided lots of valuable information.
-J.B. Greenteam, a recycling agency, offered helpful information on recycling and demonstrated how to make crafts out of newspapers.
-Area Agency on Aging offered informational materials.
