For more than four years, the dedicated volunteers at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon have faithfully served the residents of Dogwood Place Apartments in a meaningful way.
Every third Saturday of the month, volunteers prepare and set aside boxes filled with food staples, including protein, vegetables, dairy, eggs, bakery items, and hygiene products, helping support 10 households in the community. Their unwavering commitment has made a lasting difference, serving hundreds of families month after month with compassion and care.
One of the most inspiring outcomes of this partnership is a resident-led onsite food pantry, created using items residents choose to share from their own food packages to help their neighbors. It’s a powerful reminder that kindness has a ripple effect, building stronger, more connected communities.
