As a valued partner of the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, BCHF was invited to submit a proposal for the Huntington Digital Inclusion Fund. The Department of Support Services wrote a proposal requesting refurbished laptops be given to each household at Logan Terrace, Kent Place Homes, Hilltop Homes, and Zanesville Lofts. Thanks to Kristina Diane, the Service Coordinator at Hilltop Homes, and Kent Place for distributing the laptops to her residents. Tammy Miller, the Service Coordinator at Logan Terrace is waiting to receive her laptops and Tequila McKnight, the manager at Zanesville, also distributed laptops to her residents. The total number of laptops distributed was 180. Residents were extremely grateful!
In 2020, Huntington Bank and Ohio Capital Impact Corporation partnered to increase digital inclusion and connectivity for low and moderate-income residents in affordable housing communities throughout Ohio. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted digital disparities in access for youth education, engagement for seniors, and workforce opportunities for adults. The following complexes from the BCHF portfolio have received free WiFi or are scheduled to receive free WIFI: Salt Creek Village, Zanesville Lofts, Albany Arms, Gates Green, and Logan Terrace.
